How does a guided tour on the Little Belt Bridge work?
Upon arrival at Bright walking Middelfart, head to the Welcome Center. If you’ve already bought tickets, proceed to the “Check-in” area near the bridge. You’ll be grouped with others scheduled for the same time slot.
Groups are limited to 20 people per tour — perfect for company outings and unforgettable shared experiences.
At check-in
At check-in, you’ll receive a gray jumpsuit to wear over your clothes. Dress for the season and wear shoes that fit securely. The jumpsuit is light, similar to a painter’s suit, and colored to match the bridge so you blend in and don’t distract drivers below. No phones or cameras allowed
You’re not allowed to bring phones, cameras, keys, or anything that could fall. The guide will store your items in a safety box for the duration of the tour.
After putting on the jumpsuit, you’ll be fitted with a safety harness with a safety line attached to a track on the bridge. This ensures you’re secure the whole way. You’ll also wear a small earpiece to hear the guide’s commentary during the walk.

After a radio check, the group walks about 100 meters to the start of the bridge.
Here, your safety line is connected to the bridge’s rail.
Then you’ll climb stairs, pass the sidewalk and roadway, and ascend to about 60 meters above the water, 20 meters above the road where cars and trains run.
The bridge walk proceeds at a moderate pace
So everyone can keep up. The guide shares stories about the bridge’s construction and the lives of the workers who built it.
Short breaks are included so participants can sit and enjoy the view. Despite the stairs, the walk doesn’t feel physically demanding due to frequent pauses.
How long does the Bridge walking tour take?
The full tour takes about 2 hours, including safety briefings, changing, and breaks. Along the way, the guide shares stories about the bridge and nearby landmarks. One amusing tale is about a girls’ school near the bridge where students used to sunbathe nude, distracting the bridge workers and halting construction temporarily.
You might also spot porpoises in the water or impressive sailing ships passing below.
After the walk
After the tour, you can visit the Welcome Center with its exhibits and models of the bridge. There’s also cold drinks, hot coffee, and outdoor seating.
Many bring picnic baskets and enjoy the nearby nature area, which includes a playground and a bonfire spot for cooking.

Can you take your own pictures?
No, personal photos are not allowed during the walk. Phones and other small items must remain at the Welcome Center.

Age requirements
There is no specific age requirement, but participants must be over 140 cm tall.
If you can manage a 2.5 km walk involving stairs, narrow gangways, and ladders — while moving your safety wire — you’ll be fine.
However, if you are afraid of heights or use a wheelchair or have difficulty walking, it’s not recommended. You can’t turn around mid-tour as everyone is connected to the same safety track.
